Hero’s Journey Stages 5-8

Crossing The first Threshold- The hero doubts himself and is afraid of what might happen.A threshold guardian appears in this stage. A threshold guardian is either mental or physical. An example of a hero doubting himself is in Thor when Thor doubts himself of coming back to Asgard because he is afraid of what might happen.

Test,Allies,And EnemiesThe ultimate purpose for the hero is to  defeat the villain and pass thru the rest threshold guardiansIn order to get to this point he will have to get help from his ally or mentor. Another thing that will happen during this stage is a test that the hero must face in order to get through his adventure and face his rival or enemy and find his way back to the ordinary world.

Hero Journey- Approach to Inmost Cave- It’s called the Inmost Cave because it’s the most important place to be because it’s where the princess is being held at. In this stage the Hero is approaching to one of the most important part of the journey. This stage is all about reaching a certain place or goal that the hero might want to get or reach.

Hero Journey- Stage 8- The Ordeal- The ordeal experience changed the Hero it makes he or she realize a new experience or something new that changes his character and feelings about something. This is also a very important part of the adventure and journey because the Hero is realizing who he is and what his mission is now.

Hero’s Journey Stages 9-12

Stage 9- The reward stage, like success or taking a sword from a stone. its where the Hero is rewarded for his actions and for what he did to help in any way. Movies that have rewards are like in the Harry potter Series because in every movie he is somehow rewarded for his actions at the end .

Stage 10- The Road back is where the Hero returns to the ordinary world or to a place he was before his adventure began. A movie that has this is The Big Friendly Giant where the giant had to return the kid home.

Stage 11- The resurrection, The meaning of a Hero experiencing a resurrection or a rebirth is that the Hero is becoming a new person. Examples that demonstrates the character experiencing a new birth is in Pinocchio and in Shrek because they go from different people to nicer people at the end.

Stage 12- The Return with the Elixir, The hero returns to where he or she should be .Example of how a movie or book that tell about what changed in the ordinary world after the Hero completed his journey would be in the movie Thor. Thor gets sent to Earth from Asgard by Odin, and when he completes his journey on Earth and goes back to Asgard he sees that it has changed.

Texting And Driving

If I was a congress man trying to stop texting and driving my law would be that if you were driving you wouldn’t be able to use your cell phone and text or call and drive. Texting or calling and driving is not a good idea because you could have an accident. This accident could change someone’s life forever like yours or somebody else’s life. Many accidents are caused by reckless drivers who shouldn’t be able to drive because of what they do. Most police don’t do their job but with this new law they will have too or they will be fired.

Comparing drinking and driving to texting and driving is pretty easy because they aren’t that different to each other. They both cause accidents and changes a persons life forever. Drinking and driving is bad because you can really tell where your going if your drunk and can’t tell whats ahead of you. Texting and driving is the exact same thing, while looking at your phone you can’t tell what’s in front of you because your too busy looking at what someones text message. The only reason one might stop texting or drinking and driving is maybe if theres a police officer close to them or maybe because there too worried they’re going to get caught. Contrasting this is also really easy because in my opinion drinking is worse because you are already controlled by the alcohol and you can’t really change it, but with texting all you need to do is put the phone down or give it to someone else to do it for you so you don’t get in trouble.

My plan to stop texting and driving is putting more police guys and cameras at every stop. When the cameras or police guys see people texting and driving BAM, ARRESTED. I feel like this plan will really help reduce or even terminate the amount of people texting and driving because the people will be too scared to even take out there phone because they will be to alerted of the police officers and cameras. Putting a police officer isn’t easy because you don’t know what kind of personality they have and we need Police that show fear into peoples eyes so if they do get caught they won’t do it again.

The Hero’s Journey Stage 12- The Return with the Elixir

Examples of how a movie or book that tell about what changed in the ordinary world after the Hero completed his journey would be in the movie Thor. Thor gets sent to Earth from Asgard by Odin. and when he completes his journey on Earth and goes back to Asgard he sees that it has changed. Another example is in the movie Green Lantern which is pretty much like Thor. Examples of the Hero changed after he completed the journey was in movie and books The Harry Potter Series because it looks like at the end of each book he gets more serious and more confident than before. The lesson that he learned was to care about others than himself and to try harder in school. Last example is in Spiderman. Peter Parker was just an ordinary boy who liked school but then he changed to someone that cared and protected people from villains and has matured throughout the series.

The Hero’s Journey Stage 11- The Resurrection

The meaning of a Hero experiencing a resurrection or a rebirth is that the Hero is becoming a new person. The Hero learned new things that made him into something new that he wasn’t before. The main character is considered “plot of the story” because with out the main character there is no story. Two examples that demonstrates the character experiencing a new birth is in Pinocchio and in Shrek because they go from different people to nicer people at the end.

The Hero’s Journey Stage 10- The Road Back

I would define the Road Back is The Hero returns to the ordinary world. The Hero must return to the ordinary world to help he or she’s world with what he or she got from the other world. Sleeping beauty because he had to return to kiss the princess otherwise she would had slept forever. In The big Friendly Giant the giant had to return the kid home so he can go back to his world and not in the giants world.

The Hero’s Journey Stage 9- Reward

The Reward Stage is like finding success, like taking a magical sword out of the stone. Celebration because maybe the Hero defeated the villain and now there celebrating because of the Heros success. Recap and Reflection, the Hero might want to tell what happened throughout the Heros adventure. Romance, the Hero might have defeated the villain and have saved. New Knowledge, the Hero might have defeated an ally of the villain and the ally gave the Hero information of where the villain was hiding. Downfall of Reward, The Hero might fall over a rock or slip on a banana peel.
